American-made outdoor furniture since 1903

One of the oldest furniture makers in America — and one of the few that still builds every single piece in the USA. For more than 120 years, Telescope Casual has been crafted by hand in Granville, New York.

120+ Years in the Making

Four generations, one family, one American factory

Telescope's story begins in 1903, when Henry J.W. Vanderminden Sr. founded the Telescope Cot Bed & Novelty Company in New York City — making cots and campstools with collapsible "telescoping" legs that gave the company its name. In 1921 the family moved north to Granville, New York, and they've been there ever since. Today the company is run by the fourth and fifth generations of the same family.

A history of firsts

Today

Still family. Still Granville.

Run by the 4th and 5th generations, Telescope still builds every piece in its million-square-foot New York facility.

The Craft

Genuinely American-made, engineered for the elements

Telescope is one of the last major outdoor brands that still makes everything at home — every piece that leaves Granville is built with American labor and American materials. The materials are chosen to survive the real world: aluminum, cast aluminum, Marine Grade Polymer, and performance sling, designed to resist sun, salt air, and temperature extremes.
